As an artist, I paint images that stimulate my curiosity about the world around me. I am constantly looking for different ways to perceive nature, which ultimately affects my ability to translate it into a work of art. I enjoy painting en plein air (outside), but I prefer the solace of working in my studio where I am not affected by the weather, the changing light, or the occasional stray dog.
I enjoy working in either oil or acrylic paint. My painting technique tends to fall somewhere between impressionism and photorealism. I use brush strokes that are intended to create texture and movement, when viewed up close, but when viewed at a distance, the strokes blend together to create a smooth transition from one color to another.
To put it simply…I like my paintings to look “painterly.”
