Artist Statement

Explore, dream, create, inspire. As an artist/instructor I look for creative inspiration through my personal experiences and my exploration of the world around me. I am an avid photographer, who enjoys spending hours behind the lens in hopes of capturing one or two images that might reveal themselves as opportunities for a new painting. My artistic style ranges somewhere between impressionism and photorealism. Subject matter, mood, and artistic goal have a strong influence on the style that dominates my paintings. In the end, each painting has a story and each painting is a reflection of who I am as an artist, a father, and a husband.
